Indexing and structured data
Check whether pages are indexed, submit new URLs, and keep structured data valid.
Five panels sit in the left rail.
| Panel | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Sitemap | The generated sitemap and its current contents. |
| GSC | Verify Google Search Console and read live coverage data from Google. |
| IndexNow | Submit URLs to supported engines for faster pickup. |
| Logs | The record of submissions and their outcomes. |
| llms.txt | The summary of the business published for AI assistants to read. |
URL status
The URL checker inspects pages against live Google data and reports indexing status, the canonical Google selected, the last crawl date and any coverage issue. A daily job re-inspects recently published URLs so you find out quickly when something is not being picked up.
Submitting URLs
- Submit single URLs or a bulk list after publishing or after a fix.
- Sitemaps are regenerated automatically as content is published.
- IndexNow-style submission is handled for supported engines.
A practical post-publish routine
- Publish the page (blog article, geo page, or a batch of programmatic pages).
- Confirm it appears in the sitemap.
- Submit the URL (or the batch) rather than waiting for organic discovery.
- Check status again in a few days using the URL checker; most healthy pages index within that window.
- If still unindexed after a week or two, treat it as a content or template problem, not a submission problem.
Submission is a request, not a guarantee
If a page stays unindexed, the problem is usually the page: thin content, a noindex directive, a canonical pointing elsewhere, or a template Google considers duplicate. Fix the cause rather than resubmitting.
Structured data
JSON-LD is generated for the content types the platform manages: articles, local business, services, products, FAQs and breadcrumbs, and deployed through the SEO script or the blog templates. The weekly deep scan validates it and opens tasks when markup breaks.
Deployment paths for structured data
Structured data is written into the page or post it describes and served with the rest of the WordPress-rendered page, no separate step needed once WordPress publishing is connected.
Common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Page indexed but not ranking | Not an indexing problem at all, check Rankings and the audit task list instead. | Move to Onsite SEO → Rankings and Audits & tasks. |
| Page stuck as "Discovered, not indexed" | Google has seen the URL but deprioritized crawling it, often due to thin content or low site-wide quality signals. | Improve the page content and internal linking before resubmitting. |
| Structured data validation fails after a template change | A recent template or theme update altered the markup the script or WordPress integration expects. | Re-run the weekly scan after confirming the integration still has the correct page-type mapping. |
| Sitemap missing recently published pages | Sitemap regeneration may be delayed, or the page was published outside the platform's tracked destinations. | Manually submit the URL and confirm the publishing destination is one of the platform-managed integrations. |
